Engeli was established in 2011 by a group of Enterprise Development Specialists who have extensive experience, both locally and abroad. The team includes a variety of specialists in Private Equity and Fund Management, Business Support Services, Human Resources, Lawyers, Accountants, Engineering and Manufacturing.
Dr Ricardo Dames
BSc, MBA and DBA Business Incubation (NMU). 20 Years’ experience in SME development. Managed COMSEC (Incubator). More than 10 years’ experience in Youth Development. ILO SIYB and Social Enterprise Master Trainer.
BCom and LIAB. 27 Years in Corporate Banking (FNB). 8 Years of self-employment providing business owners with capital raising and business development services.
B Com. 12 Years' experience in Business Skills Development and B-BBEE Consulting. Expertise includes development of skills and compliance from a B-BBEE perspective. She uses strategic solutions to ensure that companies achieve optimal scores for all elements of B-BBEE.
BMus and MBA. Experienced Management Professional within SME and Business Development environments. Also successfully managed own procurement solutions business.
BA Hons Human Resources (NMU), BA Psych (NMU). 10 Plus years’ experience as a Corporate HR Generalist with extensive knowledge in Employment Equity, Skills Development, and Recruitment & Selection.
BCom Business Management and Economics (NMU), BCom Economics (Hons) (NMU). Work experience abroad at a Fortune 500 Global Financial Institution. Prior local experience in retail banking operations. Experienced as an Analyst at a SANAS accredited B-BBEE Verification Agency.
Over ten years of experience in administration. This time includes a two-year tenure at KFML Holdings. She worked at Ukuvula Investment Holdings Group as an Assistant to the B-BBEE Manager and has worked as an assistant in the automotive sector. In charge of ensuring the smooth operation of various Engeli divisions.
BPsych (Registered Counsellor). 14 Years’ experience in Transformation & Development work. Individual, Youth, Community & Business Advancement experience through bespoke solutions. Previously worked at a SANAS accredited B-BBEE Verification Agency and as a B-BBEE Consultant. Currently fills role of Business Development Manager & B-BBEE Specialist.
B.Com, LLB. Previous experience includes Corporate Governance, Compliance and Legal, HR and Financial Management.
Liezel spent 3 years with a wealth management company & 4 years with a boutique financial services company as personal assistant to the respective CEOs. Liezel then joined Engeli as an Executive Assistant, but also plays a leading role in the administration of the Supplier & Enterprise Development Fund managed by Engeli, as well as assisting the Financial Director with the preparation of the Group’s Financials.
Dip (Banking), PGDip (Applied Economics), MCom (Economics). Youth Employment Services Coordinator. Experienced as an SME Advisor and Business Skills Trainer.
Financial Accounting (Advanced Booking); Business Management Diploma; Management Accounting & Finance Diploma. Admin Manager for regional office of a multinational organisation.
Nontuthuzelo "Pinky" Samela
Started her career at M Secure cleaning services where she completed various specialist training in Cleaning and Hygiene. Pinky showed great potential & Engeli offered her a position as the Receptionist. Pinky currently assists a few of the group companies & manages the reception area & its associated tasks.
Masters in Conflict Transformation and Management(negotiations and mediations). Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law Practices (CCMA), with an Under-Grad degree in Human Resources at Nelson Mandela University. Previously worked in recruitment at Drake International, Labour Law at Smith and Associates and as a Human Resources Consultant at Fain
B-BBEE MDP, Member of ABP with recognition as EEP. Experience as an Analyst. Technical Signatory of SANAS Accredited B-BBEE Verification Agency. Assists with cost effective B-BBEE solutions, SETA Submissions, and EE compliance.
Diploma in Public Relations Management from Nelson Mandela University, Digital Marketing Certificate from The Open University. Knowledge of Communication Strategies & Processes. Online Content creation experience and marketing experience at reputable firm
Final Year Student in Business Administration. Started as an intern in the Human Capital Division. Currently working in an Administration capacity while providing support for all elements on B-BBEE Score Card.
Sibeso “Dee Dee” Silumesi
BA Industrial Psychology (Helderberg College of Higher Education). Work experience in Recruitment Sector – Registration, Screening and Results Monitoring. Experience working in non-profit sector in day to day functions from administration to patient well-being.
NDip Public Relations Management. Has worked as a writer and Digital Content Creator for 2 years within an SMME environment. Creation of Business Proposals, Business Profiles and Social Media Management.
Completed the Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) in 2012 & went on to KPMG to complete her learnership as a trainee accountant. During her learnership at KPMG, she passed both SAICA qualifying examinations & registered with SAICA as a Chartered Accountant. Prior to joining Engeli Enterprise Development, she worked at PWC as a manager in the Service Delivery Centre.
B Com, FIFM, CAIB: Banking, Financial Markets, Risk Management. Trevor has a background in Banking, International Trade & Financial Services. An entrepreneur for past 25 years & founding member of various companies, including listed company IQUAD, in partnership with the PSG Group.
MSc (ITFM-Warwick University), MDip Tech (Elec Eng.) 21 Years' Enterprise Development experience including the National Manufacturing Advisory Centre (NAMAC). Last 8 years involved in the design & management of technology/innovation business incubators.
Dip Accountancy, BTECH Cost and Management Accounting, ILO SIYB trainer. Experienced as an SME advisor as well as a business and personal development skills trainer. Currently fills the role of a skills development facilitator.
Alfred da Costa
Entrepreneur, Ex CEO and ex-president of the Port Elizabeth Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Served on a number of JSE listed entities such as Bidvest. Currently serves as an independent, non-executive director on numerous boards.

NDip Human Resources Management. Previously worked in multiple capacities at a leading manufacturing company.
Diploma in Human Resources Management. Currently studying Advanced Diploma: Business Studies (Human Resource Management) recently joined Engeli as an Administration intern in the Consulting Division.
